Goldsmiths’ Craft & Design Council appoints new chairman

The Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Council (GC&DC) has appointed Peter Crump, the MD of UK jewelry design and manufacturing firm Vipa Designs, as its new chairman for the following two years.

Taking up from retiring chairman Andy Putland, Crump stated he’s “excited” to begin his new position and put plans into place to develop the Council’s work and ambitions additional.

Crump stated: “What an honour [it is] to be chairman of the Goldsmiths’ Craft and Design Council. This can be a fabulous business, and to be requested to guide an organisation that persistently helps, promotes, rewards and celebrates the perfect of artistic design, superb craftsmanship and expertise is a uncommon privilege certainly. I stay up for constructing on the nice work carried out by previous chairmen, main the Council to even better heights.”

The Council, whose members are drawn from the UK jewelry, silversmithing and allied trades, expressed its gratitude to Putland, who stays as a council member and trustee, for his “enthusiasm, imaginative and prescient and ambition” over the previous two years.

Crump’s appointment coincides along with his celebration of 40 years’ since founding Vipa Designs, primarily based in Melton Mowbray. Vipa manufactures, helps and provides companies to different jewelry companies together with each designer makers and retailers, and has been concerned with the moral making motion for over 15 years.

As a part of his appointment, Crump has requested fellow Council member and GC&DC Trustee Kathryn Bishop as his vice chair for the following two years.
